WI SEE YOU, Emrand Henry!

EMRAND HENRY





Emrand Henry is a singer and song writer of Reggae, Groovy Soca and Dancehall Gospel music from the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.  Emrand began his musical career in 2003 after winning the Nation’s singing competition “Star Quest”; a contest similar to that of American Idol.  

Emrand released his fifth album “Resistance” on April 4th 2012.  This marks a milestone in the artist’s career as he got signed to a digital distribution deal with EMI label via Amen Gospel.  The release of this album went viral worldwide on every major website around the world for the first time ever in his career.  This album features one of the greatest singles ever by the artist entitled “Lord I Worship You”.  This is a great hit which was nominated in two categories for the En Sound Awards out of Atlanta one week after it was released.  

In observance of this milestone Emrand pre-released his Album on March 31st in Belize as he ministered alongside Monty G. at YC Belize 2012 Youth Concert.  He also had his first time ever album launch concert in his homeland St. Lucia featuring renowned gospel reggae artist Sherwin Gardener out of Trinidad along with many local gospel acts on April 21st 2012.  On April 26th 2012, he performed many singles off the album at the Soufriere Jazz. On May 27th 2012 he performed his featured singles off the new album on the stage of Barbados Gospel Fest. As 2012 progresses Emrand Henry will advance to multiple cities and countries to spread the music off this album.  He was a featured artist at “Rock the Bronx” in August 2012, Belize September 15th at Mikal Evans album launch and many other venues to be announced as they take place.

‘The rapper who never uses the ‘n’ word…’
With songs featured in hit American TV series Lincoln Heights and True Blood, Blee is fast becoming an independent artist that is making a name for himself in this business.
Growing up on the paradise Caribbean island of Montserrat, Blee started off his life instilled with values and structure. Tragedy struck his idyllic surroundings In July 1995 when the now infamous and tragic volcano erupted on the island destroying more than half the region including his childhood home. Uprooted, he moved to Canada to start a new life, he later made a move to the UK where he finally settled in London.
A producer, writer and performer, Blee is the answer to today’s lost generation of those both young and old on a quest to find themselves amongst the chaos of a traditionalist uninspired society. They say it takes just one person to make a change, shake things up and set the pace and we say that Blee has come along at just the right time.
Blee has laid claim to every Friday the 13th for the next few years. It will now be known as ‘Blee Day’. The day he releases his album chapters, The Black Lion Chronicles. The plan is to release 13 chapters the last of which will be Chapter 1…..yeah, we know. When ask what the obsession with the number 13, Blee says “because everybody believes it’s a bad number. I think it deserves a chance.”
Blee has now been writing and producing music for over 8 years now and in 2007 he decided to take total control and set up his own independent record label/production company Cross Seas Entertainment Ltd; Specialising in Hip Hop, Reggae, R’n’B and other forms of Dance music. With intentions to both cultivate new artists and create a new generation of trendsetters, he also feels it is important to hold on to what’s yours in order to stay true and fill that ever growing gap in the market.
The Black Lion Chronicles Chapter 4: Choose Love’ is due out Friday 13th June 2014.
